Experienced in transmission design and development with strong expertise in gears, bearings, synchronizers, shifting systems, housings, and proprietary component development across the product lifecycle. Skilled in transmission concept definition, performance calculations, DFMEA, GD&T, validation planning, and leveraging engineering tools such as KISSsoft, ROMAX, CAE, and 3D modeling software. Proven track record in prototype development, failure analysis, field issue resolution, production support, and driving cost and weight optimization initiatives through design innovation and validation.

Key skills and responsibilities include:

Good knowledge of all components of transmission and their functions

Design and development experience of gears, bearings, synchronizers, shifting systems, and housings

Design and development of proprietary transmission parts with suppliers

Defining new concepts and layouts for transmission sub-systems

Selection of a transmission for a vehicle based on performance calculations and considering B10 life

Exposure to 3D modeling software, KISSsoft, ROMAX, and CAE tools

Expertise in defining GD&T on drawings for transmission components

Expertise in performing DFMEA of all transmission components and overall aggregate

DVP definition along with the testing team on both bench and vehicle levels

Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials used, and metrology of transmission parts

Experience in prototype development for different parts of transmission

Experience in failure investigation, root cause analysis, and countermeasure implementation

Experience in root cause analysis and solution implementation for field failures

Providing technical support to the production team to solve concerns

Idea generation, design release, validation, and implementation of cost and weight reduction measures

Effective communication and strong presentation skills to convey complex technical aspects in a simple way to stakeholders and leadership teams

Strong project management skills, including bringing structure and clarity to overall milestones, steering projects, adhering to timelines, sensitizing risks, and providing mitigation plans

Qualifications

Qualification:

BE in Mechanical, Production, Automobile, or Mechatronics

Experience:

5 to 8 years of experience in transmission design, development, calibration, or testing
