We are now taking another step forward in our growth with the launch of Daimler Truck Renting Services Portugal, our new entity in Portugal. For this new venture, we are looking for people who are eager to grow with us and contribute to the development of the company from this exciting early stage.

The position is 100% based in Portugal, although you will work closely with our teams in Spain and Portugal on a daily basis.

What is the purpose of the role?

Lead the commercial activities, ensure sound credit risk management and reliable financial control for Daimler Truck Renting Services Portugal, safeguarding the quality of the customer portfolio, financial transparency, regulatory compliance, adherence to Daimler Truck Group policies, and support for the profitable growth of the rental business in Portugal.

Credit Risk Management:

- Assess and recommend credit limits and renting transactions for customers (SMEs, corporate customers and fleets), analysing creditworthiness, financial statements, debt levels and repayment capacity. - Apply local credit policies as well as DTFS global and regional policies. - Monitor credit quality through portfolio KPIs, arrears, NPLs and recoveries, proposing continuous improvement actions where appropriate. - Participate in Portfolio Management meetings to review portfolio composition and risk appetite, ensuring alignment between business and risk. - Contribute to defining Daimler Truck Renting Services Portugal’s risk appetite strategy and translate it into appropriate adjustments to policies and processes. - Participate in WL/PC meetings to define appropriate measures and action plans. - Monitor customers in Collections, with the objective of recovering outstanding debt or assets.

Financial Management:

- Support the Spain CFO in defining, planning, and monitoring financial KPIs for Portugal, including margin, cost of risk, OPEX and portfolio profitability. - Prepare and analyze internal and external financial and risk reports accurately and on time, in accordance with Portuguese local regulations and Daimler Truck Group policies. - Ensure a high level of transparency regarding the financial position of Daimler Truck Renting Services Portugal towards Spain and HQ. - Review data and identify inconsistencies to ensure that financial and risk information is reliable, accurate and complete. - Prepare budgets and forecasts, providing risk/return analyses and scenarios. - Lead treasury planning and strategy, ensuring efficient management of liquidity, funding, and financial risks in Portugal.

Sales Management & Business Development:

- Define the commercial strategy for Daimler Truck Renting Services Portugal together with Spain and HQ, including target segments, products, pricing and channels. - Develop and execute the annual commercial plan, setting clear targets for volume, margin, product mix and portfolio quality. - Lead and/or coordinate the local sales team, ensuring a strong focus on results and profitability. - Establish and monitor commercial KPIs, including sales, pipeline, conversion rates and profitability per transaction, using data to support fast and effective decision-making. - Develop and maintain strong relationships with dealers and other business partners in Portugal, ensuring alignment on objectives and expectations. - When required, participate in customer and dealer visits to support negotiations and identify alternative solutions for complex transactions, balancing business opportunities and risk. - Ensure clear and regular communication with customers, dealers and partners, fostering collaboration based on trust and mutual benefit.

Regulatory Compliance and Internal Control:

- Ensure that all credit and rental transactions comply with applicable Portuguese legislation and internal requirements. - Implement and maintain AML/KYC controls for higher-risk customers. - Collaborate with the Internal Control System (ICS) on financial reporting and risk processes, documenting and reviewing evidence.

Qualifications

What are the essential qualifications?

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Law, Economics or a related field. - A Master’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, or Controlling or an MBA is an advantage. - At least five years of relevant professional experience in credit risk analysis and management within financial institutions, rental, leasing or automotive companies, and in financial controlling and/or business analysis within financial services companies. - Experience working in international environments and lean organisational structures, with the ability to take on a broad and versatile role. - Advanced knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel; experience with Power BI or other Business Intelligence tools would be an advantage.

Languages:

- Portuguese: Native or fluent. - Spanish: Spanish language skills are a plus, but not required. - English: Professional proficiency (C1 preferred).
