Role Purpose
To ensure effective laboratory testing and quality control of greensand, silica, core sand, incoming raw materials, and finished products, while contributing to raw material development and supervisory activities.

Required Experience
- Matric/NQF Level 4 (with Maths & Science passed)
- Minimum 2 Years applicable experience
- Demonstrated work ethic and track record
- An understanding of Laboratory operations
- Good communication
- Computer Literate
- Able to read SWIs
- To be able to work autonomously

Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Sampling and testing incoming raw material as per procedure, including green sand.
- Carrying out the following tests on the finished product: tensile, H.B., preparing micro specimens, wedge tests, preparing samples of defects, and recording results.
- Assisting supervision with process investigations, raw material development, and participation in corrective action.
- Inspecting and initiating corrective action on die welding processes and recording in standard format.
- Performing calibration and audit checks on equipment.
- Participating in internal and external audits.
- Assisting in problem-solving.
- Running tests unsupervised.
- Performing any equal or lower graded function not part of normal duties as instructed by supervisors.
- Maintaining good housekeeping and adhering to company rules.
- Adhering to safety regulations and performing only duties within the limitations and scope of authority vested in this position, unless instructed otherwise by supervision.
