About the position

### Tasks #### Inside the Role In this position, you will support the Mechatronics Engineering group as an Electric (High Voltage) Product Design Engineer II, working with feature owners and component owners to develop software and control system solutions. This person will be responsible for developing control strategies for electric vehicles; including the eDrive system, charging, and other related HV components, ensuring optimal performance and implementation. Additionally, ensuring all features are implemented into various ECUs, and cohesive software and network communication between components. You will also be investigating future advanced control strategies that would lead to optimal efficiency and capabilities of electrified powertrains in the industry. #### Posting Information We provide a scheduled posting end date to assist our candidates with their application planning. While this date reflects our latest plans, it is subject to change, and postings may be extended or removed earlier than expected. #### We Take Care of Our Team - Position offers a starting salary range of $86,000 to $110,000 USD. - Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience. - Benefits include: - Annual bonus program. - 401k company contribution with company match up to 6% as well as non-elective company contribution of 3 to 7% depending on age. - Starting at 4 weeks paid vacation. - 13+ calendar holidays. - 8 weeks paid parental leave. - Employee assistance program. - Comprehensive healthcare plans and wellness programs. - Onsite fitness (at some locations). - Tuition assistance and volunteer paid time off. - Short-term and long-term disability plans. #### What You Drive at DTNA - Define, implement, validate, and release software for the high voltage supervisory control system. - Support system development for the HV Powernet and Charging systems with other powertrain feature and system owners, ensuring software communication between all devices and ECUs are optimized. - Utilize methods and tools required for control system development at DTNA. - Support the local systems development along with global partners within TT/X and TT/S for High voltage systems and Charging systems. - Provide DTNA requirements to global functional safety work products (HARA, FSC, etc.). - Support implementation of functions in ePowertrain controllers by being an expert on functional decomposition. - Coordinate with System Validation Team to sign off that system requirements are met. - Lead issue resolution on powertrain ECUs during system-level and vehicle-level validation, resolving interoperability problems and coordination between controllers. - Verify and improve powertrain systems and functions by participating in testing activities and workshops. - Support production project timing to rollout electric test vehicles according to project timing. - Stay current on electric vehicle technology developments. - Generate new ideas and methods for optimizing vehicle design, systems, and processes. - Broaden your expertise outside of your immediate responsibilities and become an expert in eMobility topics. #### Knowledge You Should Bring - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field with 2-4 years of relevant industry experience. - Extensive experience developing model-based software with Matlab/Simulink for automotive or heavy-duty vehicle industries. - Experience creating control system requirements and test plans to validate control systems. - Experience with developing diagnostic strategies to monitor the health of control systems. - Ability to lead cross-functional international teams to implement technical design solutions and document system requirements. - Must be well-organized, able to handle multiple, detailed tasks, and work professionally with various levels of DTNA management and interfacing groups. - Experience with DFMEA and ISO26262 Functional Safety analysis for automotive electronics products. - Experience with vehicle networks, CAN, communication protocols, and automotive software development. - Excellent self-management skills required. - Strong interpersonal skills and oral and written communication skills. - Detail oriented, reliable, and self-motivated. - Proven ability to translate business needs into technical requirements. - Ability to work in an environment of ambiguity and ongoing change. - Low to moderate travel (10%). #### Exceptional Candidates Might Have - Experience in systems development and function development for Electric Powertrain or Mechatronic systems. - High level of proficiency using OpenECU, Pi Innovo, MATLAB/Simulink, and Jira. - Experience with communication protocols: J1939 CAN, UDS, CCP, LIN. - Experience with vehicle charging protocols: J1772, DIN 70121, ISO 15118-20. - Experience designing controls and software on high voltage automotive powertrain products. - Strong technical proficiency on commercial vehicle design with a focus on software, controls, or calibration. - Previous experience leading and mentoring other engineers. - Languages: English (fluent); additional language(s) appreciated. #### Where We Work This position is open to applicants who can work in (or relocate to) the following location(s): Gaffney, SC US.
