Cab Suspension Design Engineer

### Tasks **Job Description for Cabin: Suspension and Mounts (DRL 6.1/6.2)** - Experience: Minimum 4 years, maximum 10 years. - Design and development of Cabin Suspension and Mounts. - Designing assemblies with a variety of functions and interfaces, including design of components and assemblies based on specified concepts. - Creation of concepts for assemblies with a variety of functions and interfaces, such as solutions for assemblies (e.g., suspension systems, casted and forged parts, thick sheet constructions, elastomer bearings, locking devices) while considering project target values (e.g., costs, quality, weight, deadlines). - Creation of contributions to requirement specifications at assembly or component level, including preparation and coordination for assemblies like suspension struts, elastomer bearings, tilt cylinders, or tilt pumps. - Coordination of development work for components/assemblies, including collaboration with specialist units and external companies to meet deadlines, costs, and quality. Support purchasing in technical matters. - Management of projects with responsibility for structuring, subdividing, and detailing project content. Create schedules, budgets, and project orders. Control and monitor project execution. - Planning of tests/trials together with validation responsibles, considering deadlines, costs, quality, and resources. - Evaluation and interpretation of trials/tests for submission of release decisions, including creating test reports and specifying test runs or repetitions. - Close collaboration with relevant units such as calculation, supplier management, production planning, preliminary cost planning, sales, purchasing, and controlling. - Expertise in material selection, master section generation, design principles, and calculations. - Exposure to kinematic simulation. - Knowledge of prototyping methodologies. - Knowledge of regulatory/CMVR/Homologation requirements at system and vehicle levels. - Knowledge of validation methodology. - Knowledge of manufacturing processes for rubber, casting, forging, and stamping. - Familiarity with design tools such as DFMEA, DVP, DFM, and DFA. - Hands-on experience with UG NX (3D/2D), including GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis. - Competence in 2D drawing preparation and documentation release. - On-time support for design issue resolution during development and testing. - Interaction and coordination with suppliers for part development. - Support for prototype and testing teams in fitment and validation activities. - Timely resolution of field issues. - Resolution of design issues raised during testing, production builds, and customer vehicles using proven problem-solving techniques. - Proposal, execution, and implementation of cost-reduction ideas (VA/VE) relevant to the system. - Adherence to project timelines and risk assessment in the product development lifecycle. - Good oral, written communication, and presentation skills. - Prefer candidates with knowledge of cabin suspension and mounts for commercial vehicles or passenger cars from OEMs or reputed Tier 1 suppliers. **CAD Skills / Computer Skills** - Proficiency in Unigraphics NX Tool for surface modeling and solid modeling. - Drafting: 2D drawing preparation, assembly drawing, and installation drawing preparation. - Proficiency in PLM tools and MS Office. **Soft Skills** - Global collaboration with design teams and suppliers. - Co-creation with internal and external stakeholders. - Time management and reporting skills. - Fluency in English language. - High intercultural sensitivity and agility. - Flexibility within the team to achieve organizational goals with a driven-to-win attitude. --- ### Qualifications **Educational Skills** - Four-year engineering degree from a reputed college or university. **CAD Skills / Computer Skills** - Proficiency in Unigraphics NX Tool for surface modeling and solid modeling. - Drafting: 2D drawing preparation, assembly drawing, and installation drawing preparation. - Proficiency in PLM tools and MS Office. **Soft Skills** - Global collaboration with design teams and suppliers. - Co-creation with internal and external stakeholders. - Time management and reporting skills. - Fluency in English language. - High intercultural sensitivity and agility. - Flexibility within the team to achieve organizational goals with a driven-to-win attitude.
